Noise—it’s one of the most common complaints in strata living. And while a bit of sound is part of community life, persistent or excessive noise can create real stress.
If you’re experiencing noise issues, here’s how to handle it calmly and constructively:
Step 1: Talk to your neighbour
Sometimes people don’t realise they’re being noisy. A friendly conversation can be surprisingly effective.
Step 2: Report it to the strata manager or committee
If the noise continues, let us know—include dates, times, and the nature of the noise. We can then issue a warning or investigate further.
Step 3: Formal notice to comply
If informal efforts fail, the Owners Corporation can issue a formal notice. This is a legal step that enforces the by-laws.
In more serious or ongoing cases, the matter may go to mediation through NSW Fair Trading or, as a last resort, to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
At Strata Revolution, we always aim for fair, respectful resolution. Your home should feel like home—and that means helping everyone feel heard and respected.
